DesmondSMITHOn March 5th 2018, peacefully at his home in Heald Green, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of Molly, loving father of Andrew, David, Michael and Helen and a much loved granddad. Former English Teacher at Wilbraham High School, St. James', Cheadle Hulme, St. Bede's, Alexandra Park and Withington Girls' School. Requiem Mass at Christ Church, Heald Green on Wednesday, March 21st at 10.00am prior to Committal at Stockport Crematorium (Rowan Chapel) at 11.30am. Des Smith was my English teacher in 1990 at Withington girls school. I was just telling my children a funny story from one of his lessons (about deliberate mistakes and Des O Connor!) and so I thought I would search for him and see how he was getting on. Sad to learn that he passed 5 years ago but he obviously left a huge impression. He was a lovely man very warm and funny! Wishing his family all the best. Rest in peace Mr Smith xx
