Sorry to hear the news, even though I only spoke once to Don, on the 'phone, some years ago. I was a Youth Scout for Everton, Portsmouth and Southampton football clubs and said that I would call in see him but, unfortunately, never did. My connection was Don's brother Alan who I worked with in youth football at Tranmere Rovers FC in the 1970s. I have kept in touch with Alan since I moved down to Warminster in Wiltshire in 1983. I also knew Val (very briefly), Alan Jnr and still keep in touch with Ian who is assistant manager at Burnley. He also lets me know how Alan Snr is. Again, please accept my condolences at this time,
