Ian (John)YOUNGPeacefully at St Vincent's Hospice on Saturday 7th December 2019. Ian, beloved Husband to Irene, devoted Dad to Kenneth and Lorraine, much loved Pop to Micah, Joel, Carlin & Elijah. Funeral service to which all family and friends are respectfully invited at Calder United Free Church, Lochwinnoch on Wednesday 18th December at 1.30pm thereafter to Lochwinnoch Cemetery for 2.15pm. Family flowers only please.

I was fortunate to work with Ian during his time at Strathclyde Region and North Lanarkshire Council. He was a great mentor and was instrumental in the development of my own career. He had a great sense of humour and it was a pleasure to be at work with him. The funeral service today was a fitting tribute to a truly special person.
I know Irene and the family already know this, but it is worth highlighting that he achieved what we all hope to do, he made a difference! His spirit will live on in the many people fortunate enough to have met Ian.
