JohnGALEDied on Wednesday October 24th aged 93, in his beloved Watermouth home surrounded by the love of his family and carers. John moved to Ilfracombe in 1964, a pioneer in Education, he came to establish the first ever purpose built comprehensive school in the country. Ilfracombe Community College was opened in 1973. John and his wife Pat were passionate about the community and promoted and served its interest throughout their long lives. Funeral service to be conducted by the Rev. John Roles at Ilfracombe Parish Church on Monday November 19th at 10.30am. The family invite you to join us in celebrating a long and significant life. Donations to the Exmoor Centre and the North Devon Hospice at Home Team can be given at the church or sent to A D Williams Funeral Directors, 31a Portland Street, Ilfracombe, N. Devon, EX34 9NL.
