John was famously manager of Arnold FC when they reached the 1st Rnd Proper of the FA Cup back in 1977 an incredible achievement for a club of it's size. John will always be regarded as a legend in Arnold footballing circles. Always had a quick chat when I bumped in to him in Arnold he will be sadly missed.

A minutes silence will be held at our next home game as a mark of respect - a real legend.

My condolences to his family and his many friends.
