RobertPHILLIPSPassed away peacefully on 27th May 2026 at his home in Trearddur Bay, Holyhead, following a courageous battle with prostate cancer aged 91 years. Born in Holyhead on 1st April 1935, Robert brought a lifetime of warmth, dedication, and joy to everyone who knew him. He was a well-known and respected face in the community, having spent his working life dedicated to his career at the Port of Holyhead. Following his retirement, Robert pursued his creative passion for videography. As a true perfectionist at his craft, he produced many wonderful films that captured theatre dance performances, lively musicals, school concerts, and his extensive travels. His incredible visual legacy documented many years of local events in Holyhead, including historic royal family visits. His artistic eye and dedication to capturing these moments leave behind an invaluable historical and personal record for the community he loved.
He spent his final moments surrounded by the deep love of his family, with his devoted partner, Tricia, and his close family at his bedside. Robert was a proud and loving father to his sons, David and Paul. He was a treasured grandfather to Stephen, Anna, Cara, Harri, Clare, Will, Lucy, and Liam, and a deeply loved great-grandfather to Lily, Popi, and Sebastien. He will be remembered for his kind nature, his loyalty to his hometown, and his enduring strength. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
A service to celebrate Robert's life will be held at St Ffraid's Church, Trearddur Bay, Holyhead, on the 24th June at 11:00 a.m. Followed by interment at Maeshyfryd Cemetery, Holyhead. Flowers or donations towards Prostrate Cancer and Marie Curie gratefully accepted per
