Hi Gwyn. It is with profound and deep sadness and shock that I heard today of Merve’s passing. It is so so sad. I first met merv when we were both headteachers. He gave me ,a rooky, a great deal of support and help. Appreciated even to this day. His sense of humour resonated with mine, especially on the practical jokes level, eg during the Serbian crisis.... that’s another story. I had the privilege to be his accompanist with the Wyndham singers, where Merck’s musicality, in his own style, shone through. Having moved away from Abergele ....only down the road to Rhuddlan....I only wish that I’d nurtured our friendship. My deepest condolences and thoughts go to you and all the family. Bleddyn

Carol and I are parents to Christina and grandparents to Lena and Morgan.
We still think fondly of the wonderful Christmas we spent with Mef and Gwyn in Chicago.
Good Lord we all laughed and enjoyed each other’s company and told more than a few stories and even a few tall tales I am sure.
A wonderful man will be missed by so many but will never be forgotten!
Think of you often! I was honored to know Mef and even more honored to call him friend.
