Childhood Memories

The other day I was talking to Mam, just because I've been unwell lately...like "flu unwell"...when you can't get out of bed! It made us think back to childhood, & anytime we were unwell with anything, how we loved having visitors!
I loved it when I was poorly in bed up in my room, (not loving the fact I was ill, just to clarify that lol), & in the evening, you'd suddenly hear your voice with Grandad. You'd have usually both been at work, then he'd collect you & you'd come over.
I just knew you'd come up & I'd get a really lush cuddle! You didn't care what I may have had, & I can remember exactly how those cuddles felt! I remember yr cool hand on my face, & the smell of Chanel No 14 mixed with a lipstick that always had a lovely smell! I can see it in my mind, I'm sure the casing was blue, but can't remember the make...I will remember it though! It's the only one that smells like that 🥰
Anyway, there'd be a bunch of magazines, Ribena, a glass bottle of the old lucozade in orange wrapping, & various types of chocolate etc, for when I was feeling better.
And although I may have felt awful, more so as it was night, I felt safe & comforted up in my lovely plumped up bed, drifting off to the sound of adults talking downstairs....thank you for every special cuddle when I wasn't well....I remember all of them. Miss you so so much. Love you, & pass on my love to everyone on the other side! 😇💞🥰 Lou XxX
