Rest in peace Stan ,I was a kid when he coached me along with current top pro Gary Wilson and I will always remember him as a good man who adored his snooker and such a one off character ,no one like him .

Sorry to hear of Stan Chambers passing, I owe Stan such a lot. He was responsible for me becoming a ESB referee under the guidance of Vera Selby The women's world champion for both billiards and snooker. I was fortunate enough to officiate at the English Amateur and pro -ams at the PIOS tournaments held in Prestatyn in Wales- I got my England call up in 1997 to referee the Maltese open. I qualified as a World professional snooker coach down at the Academy in Sheffield 2002 where I helped Stan at Supa Snooker in Wallsend for 15 years until it closed down - I was also the secretary of the disabled Sport England snooker league which I played in winning the area title 5 times- We travelled to Stirling, Harrogate, and Manchester to play in the national tournaments where we won the team event 13 times. I owe all this to Stan he will be sadly missed by those who knew him. My condolences go out to Sheila his wife, Lesley, James, and Colin.
