I was deeply saddened to hear, via Jim Goodfellow, of Andy's passing. Andy was a stout and resolute old friend, the kind you'd want next to you in a scrape or a Trench for that matter. Andy and I used to walk to school together and I had hoped to buy him that pint in The Bridge. I delved into me Mam's archive and found images of when we ran away to sea and were counted as the most feared lad's in the League, Andy certainly was! I recall Andy was particularly kind when me Dad was quite ill. Engineer's both, Andy made me Dad lighter gardening tools to help his day. A good lad. Jim said he was able to say good bye and to give Andy a kiss. I would have too.

Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, still missed, so very dear.

Thinking of you all at this sad time.
With love, Lorraine, Derek, Jack and Josh Fannon xxxx
