A humble, selfless, inspirational woman through and through, I don’t for a single minute think you knew that deep down. Levels of unwavering strength, courage and pure bravery that were so extraordinarily rare. Only weeks ago were you speaking with such positivity and power, through adversities you continued with a smile and fierce determination.

The care and compassion you showed whilst at work to everyone you encountered, the times you went above and beyond for many, you were certainly ‘fiery’ at times Karen, the figurative expression that a “spade was a spade” but we all loved and cherished you for it. I will always remember the day you decided to “crew up” (completely random and against the grain) with me and the hysterics we had attempting to find a specific hospital entrance. “Finishing paperwork” sat with a coffee & a box of subway cookies trying to help you understand how to complete an eprf when you were ready to throw it out of the ambulance window. On that day I vividly remember driving to our first job and thinking I had to “behave”, drive perfectly, do and say everything “by the book” as I was sat beside you as my manager but I soon saw a side of mischief that I had never seen before that reminded me, you were just like the rest of us.

There are so many special memories, funny stories, deep conversations that I will treasure forever. You guided me through difficult times with nothing but patience, empathy and kindness. What beautiful pictures of your daughters below who you often spoke with such deep love and pride about at work. My sincere thoughts and condolences are with your family and friends at this tragic time.

You dedicated your life to serving others and you ensured our late colleagues legacies lived on. Just like your legacy will Karen, in our loving memory forever. Rest in eternal peace my beautiful friend x

Karen had a huge impact on so many, from her patients, colleagues and of course her family and friends. I will miss her so much and when the sadness lingers and the mood is blue, I will be forever grateful for the special friend I had in her.
Rest in peace special lady.

My dear friend Karen I'm so sorry I never got to say goodbye to you I have so many memories of you from working together and from outside of work.
There are many words I can use to describe you genuine, kind, caring, compassionate, loyal, supportive, courageous, determined these are just a few. You always went above and beyond to make sure staff was OK great qualities fir a manager, I hold the utmost respect for you.
When you became ill we saw each other lots we laughed and cried together we drank endless cups of tea and ate plenty of cake I will cherish those memories.
You said from the start you was going to fight and you did with courage and determination staying positive right to the end.
Rest in peace my lovely friend. xx
