John was one-of-a-kind.
I knew him through work at DPOWH, Grimsby.
He was strongly opinionated, could come across as cantankerous and difficult, but cared passionately about all children in his care and had a heart of gold.
He has been very much missed since he retired and will be in life by all who knew and loved him!

So many memories from working on Special Care Baby Unit. My thoughts are with Judith and the family at this sad time.

John was a very dear friend of my late father (Geoff Pass) and were both members of the Sub Aqua Club. I remember him very well and he was a lovely man. I know my Mum and Dad were very fond of him. My very best wishes and condolences to Judith and family.
