One of my best and closest mates in the AEEU and Amicus and Unite. Got some great memories with Steve. A true friend. He will be missed. Now at peace.

Today, we remember a truly special man who brought so much happiness into our lives. It was a privilege for us as a team to have been part of his care and to have shared so many precious moments with him and his family.

He had the most cheeky smile, one that could brighten a room and lift everyone's spirits. Every time we visited, he had a way of making us feel happy, and we always left with a smile of our own. He was so much more than someone we cared for; he became someone who touched our hearts and became a special part of our days.

We will always treasure the simple but meaningful moments we shared, from making chocolate milkshakes and bacon butties together to sitting and laughing at some of the strange and wonderful stories on This Morning. Those little moments of laughter, companionship and connection are the memories we will hold closest.

We also feel so fortunate to have spent time with his lovely family, sharing conversations, smiles and those everyday moments that made each visit special. And, of course, we cannot forget Cilla and Paloma, the family's two lovely dogs, who were part of the warmth and happiness we experienced whenever we visited.

Although our role was to provide care and support, he gave us something special in return. He reminded us how much joy can be found in the little things, how powerful a smile can be, and how meaningful it is simply to spend time with someone.

To his family, thank you for welcoming us into your lives and allowing us to be part of his journey. It was an honour to care for him, and we hope you find comfort in knowing that he was so very special to us, too.

He may no longer be here with us, but the memories, the laughter and that cheeky smile will stay with us always.

Rest in peace. You will be remembered with so much love. ❤️

Steve, you were an absolute legend. So many funny stories probably better kept for a less public audience. “Pal”, lender of power tools, thrower of great parties, union master, hilarious stories of times gone by, happiest and always smiling- especially at Den’s side, most impulse buyer (Harley’s, motorhomes), chief taster of Den’s food creations, fantastic “kid” of America. You will be so missed. Thank you for all the memories. Gone, but never forgotten. Lots of love, The Cleece’s xxxxx
