Sending heartfelt condolences to Pauline, Jenny, George and all the family. Phil was such a special person and a true friend who will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Working with Phil was always a joy and a pleasure. He had boundless enthusiasm for any task and an unwavering curiosity. I remember him often expressing delight at the most inexplicable charts and graphs, it always made me smile. He used to burst into song at his desk all the time, and no-one batted an eyelid, he was happy and it was contagious.
Phil was a brilliant manager, you could trust him to always do the right thing and never let you down. When he asked for volunteers a queue would form! He was a fantastic mentor and many people he managed went on to senior positions no doubt in part due to his influence. It’s no surprise that his hard work was recognised and he also went on to achieve a senior position where he was highly regarded by all his colleagues.
Phil’s love for Pauline, Jenny and George was boundless and very touching. He spoke so proudly of their achievements and obviously loved being a husband and father. The regular updates and photo’s he sent over the years also showed that pride, and were lovely to see.
Phil’s passion for The Beatles, music in general and Hull City was also a huge part of his life. He had this knack of knowing how much or little to mention them depending on the situation or person. You never felt he was trying to convert you, but his enthusiasm made you want to know more.
Phil, I want to send you a huge thank you for all your support, advice and friendship over the years. It was an absolute privilege and pleasure to know and work with you. I will always miss you - goodbye my friend.

Sending much love and our heartfelt condolences to Pauline, Jenny, George and all the family and the very sad passing of our friend Phil. Phil, you have been taken far too early. We had lots more steaks to eat lots more pints to drink, so many more conversations to have, many more football games to watch, so many more laughs to have, and even a few more darts to throw. You will be forever missed by so many Phil, you battled with such dignity and bravery. Bye my friend. Forever a Tiger.
