August and a cool, fine day! I recollect with pleasure all the lovely times we have had at this time of year: Lleyn peninsular holidays, our children riding ponies through lanes with an abundance of wild flowers in the hedgerows. We cadged a lobster from the fishermen at Hell's Mouth as they cleared their pots, storing the lobsters in a wooden box before they were transported to Holland. I cooked that lobster in our tent!! What fun and enjoyment we had!
Hoppy, happy days!

Today would have been your 99th birthday! I recollect with profound gratitude and joy our shared years of happiness, our lovely family and our home and garden. It will never be the same without you, but there is much to be thankful for.

Christmas will soon be here! A time when I will feel the loss of you and all you brought into my life even more painfully than I do at present, each and every day. What a special man you were!

I am so surprised to see how many visits there have been to this tribute page! I wish to thank those who have shared it with me, in the hope that it has brought comfort to those who knew Byron, and to those who also have need of solace for whatever reason. Expressing my thoughts and feelings during the last two years has brought me comfort and relief from the aching, inescapable reality of Byron's departure. He loved our garden, now bursting with Spring flowers, some of which I had hoped to place on his grave this week, but Covid-19 prevents me from doing so.
