I spent a lot of time with Mark over the years, in Exeter and then living together in London for a while. I liked Mark a lot. He was clever and funny and I could talk to him for hours. He was also a good person with a strong moral core. I hadn’t seen him for years, but I know if I'd bumped into him again it would be as easy as ever. This is so sad.

Hadn’t seen the gentle giant for decades, but he's still the only person from Scunthorpe I’ve ever met. He was such a good ambassador for it. Mark almost looked scary in his big black coat but he was such a softy and very amusing when in the mood. Only happy memories of Mark when we were in Exeter. Big love today to his family from someone who still lives in Devon.

Mark, I remember when we first met at university, I wasn’t sure what to make of you; such an imposing character! But the more I got to know you, the more I liked you. Such a rebellious, funny, kind, generous and protective friend. Our little group had so many adventures during our years in Exeter; from Oz, to the moors, to festivals, just hanging out in the flat and everything else in between.

I’m glad we got to live together in London too. When you finally left I kept thinking I’d seen you in a crowd or on the street. You were such a big presence in my life for so long. Rob will be with you today to say goodbye for both of us. Lots of love, Becky xxx

Although I’d only seen you a couple of times since leaving school, Mark, you’ll still be hugely missed. You were such a big part of my growing up, hosting some of the best nights of my school life. The extra curricular school "trips", the joy of music and all the loud laughter are memories I’ll always treasure. My goodness we were naughty, but in the very best of ways!
A real gentle soul, and very, very funny. I feel lucky to have known you and shared those times with you.
Rest in peace, Mark. Thank you for so many wonderful memories.

There are a few people in your life that leave such an impression on you that you are a different person through having met them. For me, Mark was one of those.

My friendship with him was the closest I’ve ever had. I lived with him for 8 years, and during that time we did everything together. He was a big character - rebellious, decisive and fearless, but above all, incredibly kind, generous, supportive and loyal. We trusted each other implicitly.

Though I haven’t seen him for a long time, his passing has affected me deeply, and I will miss him terribly.

Mark you were my best friend and my partner in crime. We had so much fun all through school. You helped me with my homework and you were the one I confided in. Even though we lived separate lives since school I still think back to our time together very fondly. You will be greatly missed. Thankyou for the memories rest in peace buddy.
