I will try to attend, but I am in China.i am minded of this "his words are a spark". That's my translation from Isaiah. It so helps us studying Classics. This was and it is for me. Your father repaired my handwriting.
When I was really at my lowest, he sent me a postcard. On the back was written "to refresh your eyes. MBF".
As a teacher and as a mentor you really cannot measure MBF as one of these. He really was and is today somebody I look up to. I am so lucky to have known him and been taught by him.
You are so lucky to have so great a father as him. I am very upset, but I am happy that he was so loved.

Such a kind and gracious neighbour and a really interesting and informed conversationist. Whilst Martin was my nextdoor neighbour for several years we only got to know each other a little better during lockdown, when I would go and get him some gluten free produce. It was sad to hear of his passing and my prayers go to Rosemary and her family, who he was so very proud of.
