Amanda JaneFRANCISIt is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that Amanda has passed away. She was born and grew up in Manchester and even before she left school worked in the Steiner Salon in Manchester as a Saturday Shampoo Girl. After leaving school in 1982 she became an apprentice and she worked full time for Steiner in the Manchester area. Amanda had her own idea of where she was going and was transferred to The Maritime Division. It wasn’t long before she became a Manager. Not only was she a wonderful salesperson, an incredible manager and motivator, but she was able to teach her skills to others. By 1989 she was promoted to Director of Training at Steiner Maritime. In 1996, when Steiner Leisure Limited became a public company, Amanda, as SVP Operations, having moved to Miami. She was visiting every ship, sailing on most of them, still combining this with overseeing training in Miami and London where she would run seminars on sales and boosting revenues. In 2010, she reluctantly gave up the position of SVP at the time of the birth of her beautiful twins, Sebastian and Oliver. She still continued for some time to visit Steiner ships’ salons to help with training and motivation She moved to St Andrew’s, Boca Raton to concentrate all her efforts to being an incredibly devoted and loving mother to her wonderful boys. We will all miss her very much. She made a significant difference to all of the lives of the people she came into contact with. Her parents, Valerie and David, will miss her terribly, as will her brother Mark, whom she always admired, his wife Anne and his three sons, Edward, Will and George, whose Godmother was Amanda. Amanda was a beautiful lady and inspired so many of us throughout her journey. Our hearts go out to all of her family and friends. Rest in Peace Amanda. With love from all the Steiner Staff xxxx

Another year has passed so fast without you, my friend, my kids are proper adults they are all in Australia, where you and I first met ❤️❤️

I miss you more than you can imagine, it’s been virtually impossible to keep in touch with your boys, I feel I’ve let you down but what can I do?

I miss you, I haven’t returned to Miami , how can I go there without being with you ?

Missing you forever Panda xx

Well this has come as a bit of a shock.
To hear that someone so talented gained her angel wings so early? I’m guessing God looked down and saw what a great job you were doing down here, and decided to promote you early?
You inspired me! You inspired me from the moment I met you, and you’re the reason I am who I became.
Every Sunday, the kid from Gateshead would pop into yours and Vicky’s office to see if you girls needed anything from downtown.
Apart from a few envelopes to post, you never tasked me hard.
Then I wrote a letter to you, asking, begging, to be promoted into management.
2 weeks later you transferred me into an assistant manager role.
When you transferred me into management, you drove me in your convertible with your high heels on all the way from Miami to Ft Lauderdale yourself.
I just remember thinking, “Godamn, I want to be this woman!”
When you asked me to extend my contract and keep going for another 2 months, I couldn’t ever have said no.
When I called you from New York and said I was thinking about going land based again, you flew from Miami to New York to see me. You asked what would bring me back? I jokingly said, “A World Cruise on the QE2”
You didn’t flinch. You just said, “Right you are. Consider it done. Go home, get some rest, and enjoy the World Cruise!”
You were a woman of your word, and one who inspired many of us, in ways I wish you were only here to listen to.
It’s so sad that you have gone, but for your family, I’d like them to know this.
Sometimes when God needs a special job doing, he looks around to find that all of his angels are busy, and so he has no choice than to pick his best human.
You’re an angel Amanda. An absolute angel. Nothing else would describe you.
