DerekFRANCISThe Francis and Goddard families are sad to announce the sudden passing of Derek Francis.

Born 1954 and died May 2024.

Derek was a beloved brother, uncle, companion and friend.

Derek will be greatly missed.

Derek spent most of his working life as a South Wales Police Officer. He was a dog handler and loved the excitement and challenges that came with the role. He had retired from the Police Force some years ago.

In retirement, he enjoyed walking and caring for his dog Llewi, music, travel and catching up with friends.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 16th July 2024 at 13.15pm. It will be held at the Coychurch Crematorium, Simonston Road, Bridgend, CF35 6AB.

A celebration of Derek's life will follow from 2.30pm on the same day at the Coed-y-Mwstwr Hotel, Coychurch, Bridgend, CF35 6AF.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Mel and Ron Watkins Funeral Directors based in Pencoed.

In lieu of floral tributes at the funeral, the family request that you make a donation to charity instead please.

Derek loved dogs and all animals. The family kindly recommend making a donation to one of the following charities:
