FionaGARDNERIt is with great sadness that we report the death of Fiona Gardner, age 37, who passed away peacefully at Cheltenham General Hospital on Wednesday, 24th October. The family would like to give thanks to all staff at Oncology, Palliative Care, Lilleybrook and Precott Wards, the Leckhampton Hospice at Home team, and Maggie's Cancer Support Group. She was an amazing, much loved and unique daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, auntie, cousin, girlfriend, friend, colleague and doctor and she will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of serving with Fiona in the Falkland Islands in 2009/10. We had a memorable time as we had to fly a wounded airman to Montevideo; he had been accidentally shot during an exercise. Fiona saved the man's life at least twice during the flight to the mainland. Since then we enjoyed the odd lunch in the Officers' Mess at Brize and she helped me through my recovery from prostate cancer. How truly sad to lose a young wonderful woman. Love to her family .
