VagelisGIAKALISIt is with deepest sadness that we announce the death of Vagelis Giakalis on 1st June 2022. Finally succumbing after an heroic battle with cancer. Co-founder of Spondon Bakery in 2012. Former employee of Breadsall Priory, S&A Foods, Village Taverna, Sainsbury's and Chetwin Road Primary School. Skilled Master Baker and Chef. Dedicated Stallholder, Car Booter, Gardener and keeper of goats. Famous for his wheelbarrow bar-b-ques and "Villa Van". "Soulmate, best friend and eternal love". He leaves his wife of 24 years, Sally, daughter Dimitra, son Yiannis, mother Mimi, brother Christos, sister Jenny and all who loved him. The depth of loss and quietness is immeasurable. Until we meet and embrace again. Rest in peace and joy. Funeral to be held at St Werburgh's Church, Spondon on Tuesday 28th June at 2pm followed by a private committal.
