To Garry, good friend and caring
colleague. I miss your gentle but forthright Aussie wit. My sympathies rest with Kathryn and Francis and your family who are experiencing a loss that I empathise with so well since the passing of my own loving wife. I also know that they will find the strength to carry on without you, but that you will always be there with them in spirit.
With a sincere sense of loss,
Martin Cope

Farewell, dear Garry. It is difficult to imagine a world without you in it. You moved through our lives in your own special way - quirky, endlessly, interesting, wonderfully clever, and always generous. You had that rare gift of making us feel both entertained, and enriched by your company. A conversation with you was never merely a conversation ; it was an adventure through ideas, stories, humor, and unexpected observations. Above all, to me, you were always a gentleman. Your intellect was considerable, but it was worn lightly. Your kindness, courtesy, and generosity of spirit were every bit as remarkable as your wit. Kathryn we know this loss for you is profound. The life you built together, and the love you shared are part of the legacy he leaves behind for you to cherish. Though words cannot mend a broken heart, I hope you will find comfort in knowing how deeply Garry was admired, respected and loved by so many here in Adelaide and across Australia. Thank you, Garry, for your friendship your laughter and your kindnesses. The world is a lesser place by your passing, but immeasurably enriched by the fact that you were here. Farewell friend. With love, Céline McInerney

Garry, what a character. I first met Garry in London over 50 years ago and we became good friends and colleagues. We had great times together with plenty of laughs. He introduced me to his friends and I’m still friendly with them to this day. He came and lived with me in Adelaide for a while and the good times and the laughs continued. Garry left an indelible mark on us in Adelaide. Although we hadn’t seen him for many years, we remember him fondly- as his name often comes up in our conversations. Garry, you were always a true friend and will be remembered fondly. Love Tony McInerney Adelaide South Australia.

Garry's loss will leave a space in our lives that no one else could've filled. He was truly a larger than life character who left an undeniable impression on everyone he met. He made a huge impact on Liz, me and our family. He was always keen to help unquestionably, and trying to teach me stuff, how to tie sailing knots, how to use a pneumatic drill to dig out a chimney. He was a big presence that we will remember always

To Garry, the quirkiest most generous hearted Brother in law and Uncle a family could wish for. Thank you for your dry wit and sage Aussie advice. You're going to be missed. The world is a duller place without you!

Dear Garry
My kind, generous and brilliant brother in law. Being around your was always fun and interesting! You improved the lives of so many people in your professional and your personal life, including mine.
So sorry that you and Kathryn were not able to have more time to enjoy together in your retirement.
