For my feisty, independent Mum...may you rest in peace now, your race is run. I realise now that all your interventions in my life and other people's were motivated by kindness. You achieved much with your life and have been greatly respected throughout. We did not always see eye to eye but l am, and have always been, very proud of you and dad (Ronald Haslam) and I will love and miss you always.

I knew Mavis from Newcastle General Hospital and my late husband John knew Mavis very well over a lot of years. She was a lovely lady and very well respected by everyone who knew her. Mavis will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. RIP Mavis xx

What a long life!
Mavis had a successful career in the NHS and was a well respected JP in North Tyneside.
Mavis welcomed me into the family over 3 decades ago and we had many disussions on all sorts of subjects. She had a good sense of fun and an inquiring mind underpinned by being very well read.
We will all miss her but are comforted that she is now at rest. Tim x
