Passed unexpectedly at home May 7th 2024.

Widely revered as a likeable and progressive Headmaster of both Hatton and Friesland Schools through the 70's to the 90's, he was loved by pupils and staff alike for being firm, fair and perceptive.

A prominent member of Foremark Flyfishers Association for many, many years he will be sorely missed, though the trout of Carsington reservoir will be relieved!

Neil is survived by his second wife Margaret, his children Di and Bob, step-children Sarah and Jonathan, and their respective partners, Mark, Rachel, Robert and Anna.

A lovely, lovely man who loved nothing better than playing with his eleven Grandchildren and more recently five Great-Grandchildren, with whom he would play whenever he could.

A funeral service for Neil's life will be held at Trent Valley Crematorium on Wednesday 29th May at 09:30am.

Flowers, or charitable donations in lieu to British Heart Foundation (bhf.org.uk) and Get Hooked on Fishing (ghof.org.uk).

David and Pat together with Jeremy and Rachel who both attended Hatton School during Neil's time as Headmaster .

We all had great admiration and respect for Neil as a great Headmaster, and considerable affection for him as a friend.
