RichardHEELASSuddenly on Friday 5th July 2024, Richard peacefully passed away at his home in Waltham, aged 77 years. Adored and much-loved husband of Lorraine, a devoted dad of Garry and Victoria and a treasured grandad of Leo, and Emi. Richard was also a cherished uncle, cousin, a good friend, and neighbour. Richard will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A service to celebrate Richard's life will take place at Grimsby Crematorium on Wednesday 24th July 2024 at 12 noon.

Flowers will be greatly received but if so desired, a donation in lieu may be made in Richard's memory to RNLI or given on the day of the service. All enquiries to: Kettle Funeralcare, 135 Granville Street, Grimsby, DN32 9PB Tel: 01472 355395.

It is with heavy heart I send my sincere condolences to Lorraine and all the family. I am so sorry for your loss, and to hear of Richard’s passing. I knew Richard (and twin brother David) back in the late 1950’s thru the 1970’s, when we attended Chelmsford Secondary Modern Boys School and also being hired on the very same day as Maintenance Electricians for Courtaulds Textiles in 1967. I have so many memories of us both working together and pubbing it with others at that time. After emigrating with my family in 1974, to Ottawa Canada, we still kept in touch occasionally by mail, and also tried to meet up when I visited family and friends in Grimsby. I missed the last opportunity last year. They say don’t put off 'til tomorrow….
