Bern was a friend of my Brother Kev back in the day when they bevvied in the Glebe on county road & I ended up living by him, I remember me & my friends as kids played footy on Sunday afternoons on Bootle Grammar & Bernard showed up occasionally, he was a real sportsman, when he kicked you, he also picked you up and made sure you were OK...he was a real Trevor Brooking of a player or to us blues a Dobbo !
Condolences to Rose, Catherine & Ged.
