DianaLAYCOCKIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, granny and friend, Diana Laycock. Diana was a cherished soul who touched the lives of many throughout her life. Born in the Meadows, Nottingham, Diana lived a life full of love, compassion, and an infectious zest for life.

Diana was a dedicated nurse who trained in Nottingham, a city she held close to her heart. Her nursing career was spent caring for the community she loved, working in general practice in Sneinton for many years. Many of you may remember Diana as the kind and caring nurse from the Castle Street Practice and the Greenwood and Family Medical Centre. Her warmth, skill, and genuine care for her patients left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate to know her.

Beyond her professional life, Diana was known for her wonderful character. She was fun-loving, always ready to bring joy to any gathering with her laughter and vibrant personality. Diana loved to party with her friends, always the life and soul of the event. Yet, no matter how busy her life was, she always made time for people, offering a listening ear, a helping hand, or simply a smile when it was needed most.

Diana was a devoted mother to her son, Paul Laycock, and a proud granny to her two beloved grandchildren, Darcy and Ava. Her love for her family was unwavering, and she took great joy in watching Darcy and Ava grow, sharing in their joys and guiding them with her wisdom.

Her loss leaves a void in our hearts, but we take comfort in the many wonderful memories she has left us with.

A funeral service to celebrate Diana's life will be held at Wilford Hill Crematorium on Friday, September 6th, at 12:00 noon. Following the service, we invite you to join us at the Pint and Poppy Pub in West Bridgford from 13:30 for the wake, where we will share stories, memories, and celebrate the incredible life that Diana lived.

Diana's spirit, kindness, and joy for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but she will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Diana's memory to a charity close to her heart, which will be shared during the service.

May Diana rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her.

A lovely individual who always put others first. Full of life, empathy and understanding, a remarkable person with never a bad word to say about anyone. She will be remembered as the finest nurse as our relationship blossomed from a patient/nurse to friends. Reunited with her loved ones. Fly high Di; sadly missed but never forgotten. I have fond memories when as a child I used to visit my grandad and auntie Di as she was affectionately known. She was always very kind to me and my brother Oliver and we enjoyed their visits to us in Biggleswade.

Grandad was a GP who practiced in Sneinton and it was there that he employed Diana and gave her the opportunity to fulfil her lifelong career. Their devotion to each other led them to share their lives and they lived together in Melton Road for nearly half a century. It was a home open to everyone. Diana’s brother Brian and his son Paul lived there and grandad and Diana looked after their every need.

Sadly, in 2013 my grandad passed away and at his funeral Diana placed her photo on top of his coffin. All of the tributes to him include Diana that is why I was so surprised and saddened not to see him even mentioned here. I’m certain Diana will be looking down and feeling the same. RIP Diana
