The obituary notice of Nora Duncan LEWIS

My mum, Nora Duncan Lewis was a devoted mum and humanitarian. She worked as a nurse in a general hospital at first and went on to become a nursing sister at a psychiatric hospital where she insisted on opening her previously locked ward and insisted patients had proper knives and forks, which were plastic before. She also got pretty curtains and bed covers for everyone. She took her patients on holidays too. She loved them all. I fact if she could help someone or comfort somebody, she was always there.. Gardening was a great love of hers and we always asked her why her flowers were twice the size of ours. She was very much the Highland Lass and loved her homeland which was Aberdeen and always sang “Misty Island of the Highlands” The good deeds she did would fill a book. We will love and miss you darling Mum always but we have wonderful memories, dancing to Elvia, you making our designer dresses, blowing bubbles with your grandchildren making them giggle and lastly just being that Beautiful lady who luckily was our mum.
