Arthur was a much loved founder member of Llandudno Photographic Society (LLPS). LLPS recently celebrated our 45th Anniversary and Arthur was here from the very beginning of our club.
Away from his family, Arthur’s wife, Joyce, has always said that “Camera Club” and photography “are his life”. Indeed, Arthur was always a fiercely loyal and active member in all aspects of LLPS.
He attended meetings every week his health allowed, entered competitions, enjoyed field trips, loved to chat and often continue those conversations afterwards over a pint of real ale.
Arthur’s participation in club events extended to a few days enjoying summer holidays with club members over many years, right up to our last break, aged 88, in Northumberland in 2024. He never missed a single holiday.
Arthur was an excellent photographer, he loved to take photographs in the countryside and was able to use his RSPB membership towards his interests.
Arthur moved forward with the advent of digital photography, embracing it with the purchases and use of modern equipment. However, he sometimes lamented the loss of his favourite mode of photography - slide film photography.
We were able to host a special club evening for Arthur in January this year when he happily celebrated his 90th birthday.
Arthur’s loss is being felt deeply by so many of us; the many happy memories he gave us will continue to live on.
