The loveliest of ladies who made me feel very welcome as a novice Teacher at Friars in 1993. Her only stipulation- I was not to stand next to her in the lessons where I was the support teacher. Being a woman over 6 foot myself the height difference might have proved comic! It was a joy to witness her Teach & I learned a lot.

I will always have such wonderful childhood memories of "Aunty Menna", of care-free days on the beaches of Anglesey, fishing trips, holidays in Scotland, France and, my favourite: Saundersfoot in the hot summer of 1976. It must have been quite a sight, with two widows, six children and quite often Mamgu in tow.
Menna Leyshon was an incredibly talented musician, who spent her life being immersed in the world of music, accompanying thousands of instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs and inspiring and educating children in school.
I will never forget "Aunty" Menna's sense of humour, which she managed to maintain until the end of her life. May she rest in peace. Mary Lloyd-Evans xx
