DeniseLYEOf Bentham, formerly of Rochdale and Long Preston, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday 8th February 2025, aged 90 years. Beloved wife of the late Jack, dearly loved mum, special grannie, great-grannie and mother-in-law. Denise will be sadly missed by all her loving family, relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at Bentham Methodist Church, Station Road, High Bentham, LA2 7LF on Monday 3rd March at 1pm, preceded by private committal at Skipton Crematorium.

Family flowers only please, donations given in memory of Denise are to be shared between Yorkshire Air Ambulance, Bentham and Long Preston Methodist Churches and may be left at the service or sent directly to:

I am so sorry to read of Mrs Lye's passing. My teacher at Howarth Cross and Greenhill schools, she helped me so much, both professionally in her teaching and pastorally in her caring approach. She was a very important part of my school days which were at times a challenge. She really was a very special lady. My sincerest condolences to all the family, wishing you strength and positivity at this very difficult time. I hope the many comments on school sites are a comfort
