Oma will be fondly remembered for her love for God, family and friends. She was a great mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and Great- grandmother. Loved by all, she was a wonderful, talented and inspirational woman worthy of emulation. She was unashamedly open and blunt. SHE WILL BE SADLY MISSED. Rest in peace.

My friend Marlene crossed my path about twentyfive years ago when she came to live with her family in Manchester. In the early years we attended the same church and often met up after the service. Later on Marlene and her family left that church, but we continued our friendship. Our faith bound us together and we had other things in common, like German birth and having lived in Nigeria for many years with our (late) Nigerian husbands.

In recent years the lockdown restrictions unfortunately kept us physically apart. I last saw my old friend Marlene just a few days before she died, and I'm so glad I did. She has gone ahead of us to Jesus till we meet again later on. Let us celebrate Marlene's life on earth well spent! Sigrid

Dearest Oma, you will be so incredibly missed. Your kindness and warmness will never be forgotten. I'll never forget those blissful days spent visiting you in your home in Manchester, that funny singing fish you had on your wall, you teaching me little bits of German. Such a wonderful and generous woman. Every time I saw you, you were always smiling, and that is how you will be remembered, surrounded in joy. May you rest in perfect peace forever more. Love you Oma.
