Sincere condolences to Anne, Gillian and Judith on the very sad news of Peter's passing. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Peter found a message in a bottle, from our ten year old daughter Alannah, in 2011. He wrote back, and quite remarkably, they kept in touch, writing letters between them. Alannah sent her last letter in May of this year - she hopes he got to read it.
He was a learned, funny man, who kept Alannah updated with all of his family happenings. He was almost like a Grandfather figure to Alannah, and taught her many wonderful lessons, in the way he would see the brighter side of things.
It was wonderful that he took so much time to converse with his penfriend, who was extremely fond of him.
Alannah sends her love to Anne, with her heartfelt sympathies.
All of the Campbell family here in Ireland send their love and condolences too.
