StanROBINSONFollowing his sudden and unexpected death from cancer, on Good Friday, Stan's funeral was held on Saturday 21st April, at St. Chad's Church, Seighford and later at Stafford Crematorium. On behalf of all his family, we thank the hundreds of people who lined the village of Seighford and attended the services to pay their respects. We would also like to extend our thanks to the many Seighford Pub Company supporters, (Stan's last community project) for all their help with stewarding and car parking etc. We also thank everyone for their beautiful cards, letters of condolence and wonderful tributes. A very special word of thanks must also be extended to grandson Matthew Wilson and sister-in-law Carole Robinson for reading family tributes at the service and to The Rev. Andrew Hetherington, Vicar at St. Chad's, Seighford, for his inspiring and encouraging service and personal words of comfort to us all. A big vote of thanks to everyone who has made a donation in memory of Stan. At the time of writing this, well over 3,500 has been received, which will be shared between Katharine House Hospice, St. Chad's Church and The Seighford Pub Company. Stan was a big man with a big heart too, who had gained the respect of thousands of people throughout the haulage industry nationally and within the local community in his local village of Seighford and the County town of Stafford. He was also an excellent well respected businessman known throughout the Country and who's word was always his bond. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the support and dedication of all their employees at this sad time and throughout the years. Stan had personally built up the company from scratch over the past 40 or so years and has left the legacy of a sound, firmly based family business which is in good heart and with excellent prospects for the future. Stan was a wonderful brother to Ivor, Susan and myself and loving and caring husband to Flo. He has been an inspirational father to Mark, Ian and Pauline and all the extended family. We are all very proud of Stan for his lifelong achievements. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten. The name 'Stan Robinson' will live on forever. Thank you everyone for your kind support at this sad time. Gerald Robinson. M.B.E. (Brother).
