We met 40 years ago at Verulam School and remained such close friends after we retired. We, and the third ‘witch’ of Verulam, along with our ‘other halves’ had such fun together and supported each other through all the very many happy times and also the sad times. Times that we will never forget. We miss you so much.

Mary has been a friend for over 65 years. Sometimes our paths went in different directions but we never lost touch. In our youth, along with Ruth and other pals we had many adventures. Once married to Brian, Chris and I enjoyed laughter, generous & warm hospitality at their many addresses including Letchworth Garden City.
Mary was kind, mischievous,
generous, loyal and funny.
Her sense of humour never left her even in her dark days.

Mary was so kind and such fun. We met as she straightened my gown collar before going in to my first assembly as a newly qualified teacher. We became friends and it was lovely to stay in touch for a long while, even after I left Verulam. I’ll always remember Mary’s support, her understanding, our easy conversation and laughs, and her roast dinners! 🤍
