Richard RheadSIMMPeacefully on Monday 18th March 2019 at home, Richard Rhead aged 92 years of Stone formerly of Stoke-on-Trent. Husband of Stephanie, dad of Michael and Jenny, grandad of Martha, Tommy and Archie. Funeral service and cremation at Stafford Crematorium on Monday 1st April at 10.30am. Would all wishing to attend kindly meet at the Crematorium. No flowers by request, donations would be preferred for Katharine House Hospice At Home. My name is David Simm, farther was Gilbert E Simm; my Auntie was June Simm, (Sheffield) June was a dear friend of Richard. She was an artist also.
I spoke to Richard only once, a few years ago. I now have a painting by Richard of my ( our !) great great " " granddad William Simm, chief constable of Wigan. 1800 & something...He gave it to June and i now have it hanging in pride of place.
Very sad to hear of his passing whilst searching for him on the web, but it seems he reached a ripe age.
I am not sure if or how we may be related but some connection exists through the chief constable...if you have any light to cast that would be good ?
