Hi,
I did not know Craig but I think I have just used a website that he set up on the "Boats of the Norfolk Broads" - I hope i have the right Craig, apologies if not.
The reason for writing this note is I wanted to recognise his obvious hard work on cataloguing the boats and to mention that it has been a huge help for me tracing the history of a boat I am about to buy. His website was the only place in the ether that had any information on the Colvic Traveller 28 and with this information I have been able to verify the boat and its original registration etc.
I hope he is smiling somewhere knowing that he has helped a fellow boat enthusiast.
A big thank you to him for his hard work and I am sure as a family you are all rightly proud - it seems that he has left a massive legacy in all the hard work he has done.
I would love to update the record on the website to link the boat to his records if that is something you would wish me to do.
Best wishes,
Mark

I remember the first time we met Craig at VWBA. meet at Beccles ,he walked around with us and ended up in the pub late in afternoon with group ,a couple of jugs of beer. Spending a few hours chatting happily. It was about then that Craig decided to take on the books of the VWBA. This was all before Craig had a boat of his own. He used to come onto our boat for a chat and a cuppa. Such a lovely man who was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to.

Sailing together in what was an unintended 'extreme sport' experience for Craig, I quickly learned what a capable yet quietly unassuming gentleman had joined my crew. Craig's modesty concealed his vast capacity for knowledge of wildlife and the environment, so I was gratefully surprised to be corrected on a bird identification as we drifted along the river in the overnight mist. If that excursion ticked one box in Craig's list of 'must do' experiences then I'm thrilled to have been the facilitator, to have enjoyed his contribution and his enlightening company.

Ease the canvas now Crew, the work is done. Relax and take comfort, my friend.

What a wonderful friend who will be incredibly missed. Memories of many lovely evenings spent on the Norfolk Broads rivers, sitting on a boat chatting, with a drink in hand. The "go to" man for identifying the moths, spiders, bugs, birds and plants around the Broads. RIP Craig X
