Grandad Dave
Grandad, I will miss you so much. I’ll always treasure the memories of you blowing raspberries on our bellies, making us laugh, I’ll never forget our spontaneous trips to the coast—just hopping on the Metro to see where we’d end up, the visits to the fishmonger ,you always knew where to find the best and when we went to South Shields for the famous fish and chips and a pint at the pub before getting on the ferry back to North Shields .You had a magical way of turning ordinary days into extraordinary ones.
Or when you went to the Lochside pub for a pint or a whiskey—only the best whiskey for you Grandad because you deserved nothing less.
Some of my favorite memories are of playing on the field at the bottom of the street and at the little park, Sitting watching the Newcastle games with you ,watching the trains go past the house debating where they are going or those exciting birthday trips to Fenwick where you’d let us choose our presents. It wasn’t just about the gifts or the adventures—it was about the time you gave us and the love you showed every step of the way.
Grandad, you taught us the beauty of the simple things—family time, spontaneous adventures, and cherishing every moment. As we say goodbye, we carry your love in our hearts and the incredible memories we shared with you.
We all have our own special memories with you, and together we’ll carry your kindness, laughter, and wisdom forward in our lives.
Rest peacefully, Grandad Dave. Thank you for everything. We love you so much and always will.
