RaymondSTUBBSRaymond Stubbs, much loved husband to Fiona, irreplaceable father to Mark and Chloe, caring brother to Geoffrey & Malcolm, and loving uncle to Janet, Dave, Emily and Melissa. Sadly passed away at his home in Bury on Tuesday 18th November 2024 surrounded by his family.

Ray will be sadly and fondly remembered by all who met and knew him, he was wonderfully sensitive, witty, caring and generous, and will be forever missed.

Due to Raymond's passion, enthusiasm and love for the arts, in particular enjoying live Blues music, the family would greatly appreciate any donations to Olympia Music Foundation - www.olympiasmusicfoundation.com. We chose this charity, as Ray always had a love for the arts, particularly music and the blues. Please Donate via the link below.

Ray was born in Manchester, in an era when you had to make the most of what you had. Opportunities didn't come along often, but when they did, you grabbed them with both hands.

Ray was a believer in charity and supporting others and giving younger generations better opportunities. We believe that the Olympias Music Foundation shares these same values, in providing free music lessons for children experiencing social and financial barriers in Manchester.

Working together as a community, the charity also works with families and institutions to provide exciting opportunities for children, introducing them to free music education with a vision to opening doors and their horizons, to enable understanding and connection. Their mission to prepare young people for an exciting musical future and to create a brave new generation of diverse young musicians and audiences in Manchester.

Ray will be so sadly and irreplaceably missed by his family and all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

His Funeral service will be held at Radcliffe Crematorium on Tuesday 10th December 2024 at 12.30pm (Family flowers only).

What a shining light you are Ray, you will be so dearly missed - we loved you sharing your stories with us about your favourite artists and Thankyou for those special times. We will treasure them. We met through music, as we were all so passionate about New Orleans and its piano players and singers and became great friends through our love of music . In our sadness I think it’s important to remember that music is such a powerful thing, it helps people in so many ways - in our case we became connected which lead to great friendship. What a blessing. Thankyou again for all the special times, and for championing our band and supporting us over the years . X x x Debbie, Justin and Zak. X x x
