The best grandad anyone could have wished for - You taught us so much from all of us going out with you every Saturday. Flagging the trains down and then running away and making all of us equal. None got anything more than the other and that made us all feel special.
The jumping over fences to get into beamish museum, to rolling our eggs down the hill at Pea farm for Easter giving me memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. It was you who was there for me when I went through the most difficult time of my life. You never once disowned me as you knew what I was going through. We have had amazing times together even though you made me cry with the ear wash thing haha!
Rest easy now grandad. I bet you are getting wrong already off my grandma!
Miss You Sooooo Much
Until We Meet Again

I love you grandad rip.

I don’t know where to start with you! I have all the memories in the world stored in my head. From blackberry picking to playing football every Saturday, bristles shaves. Remember the half a bottle of vinegar with egg and chips. I remember the games you used to make up for me and my bruised shins from your walking stick. There’s 1000's of memories we have together which will always remind me of you every day. You were the strongest person I ever knew and just thought you’d always be here. If there’s anything in life I want to be like it’s you.
I promise to make you proud and do my best for you grandad love your grandson Daniel

Grandad Dougie, there’s just too much to say, you’re the best Grandad anyone could wish to have!
You and Grandma helped make our childhood the best ever…all the Christmases, the parties, the games, the adventures, the way you’d box us when we came in no matter how big or little we were haha…you made everything an adventure!
I’m sad for Archie too, I wish he could have known you like we all did…all the fun the laughter the love you brought, I wish he could have had all those amazing memories you gave to us
You’re gonna be a massive miss, I thought you’d be around forever 😥
Thanks for all the fried egg Sarnies when I came in hungover, thanks for all those prickly shaved that had us crying for our mams, thanks for all those wet Willys over the years haha but most of all..thanks for the memories
Goodbye Dougie
Love you to absolute bits
