I grew up with Don. He was just five days older than me and we were in the same class at both Woodhall Spa and Horncastle Schools. I still have, somewhere, the Parish Magazine with the notice of our Christening in. I remember when he was nine years old he jumped out a tree for two marbles and broke his leg. We lost contact after we left school although we did bump into each other a couple of times when out socially. It is with much sadness that I read the notice . May he rest in peace. My thoughts are with his family at this very sad time. David Hopewell
