JoyceWIGGINSOur beautiful, brave Joyce has passed away unexpectedly on 19 April 2024 at the great age of 90.
A true inspiration to everyone that had the honour of being in her company, she will be so sorely missed every day.
She was the devoted mother to her daughter and son-in-law Pauline & Dave, son and daughter-in-law Brent & Ann, the ever loving nan to Christopher, Scott, Jamie, Jo and their partners, and great nan to her many great grandchildren who all loved her dearly. Family was everything.
Joyce had a long career in singing, being fondly known as the Vera Lynn of Stoke-on-Trent. She first sang on the club circuit in her 20s and 30s, then afterwards with the resident band at Harold Clowes Community Hall until she was in to her 60s. While also ballroom dancing with Graham at Harold Clowes, they both made an uncountable number of friends over those many many years. They were known for their sense of fun and strong friendships.
She's now at peace and reunited with her husband Graham, first husband Arthur Cope, her brothers and sisters and grandson Simon.
Celebration of the extraordinary life of an extraordinary lady will be held at Carmountside Crematorium on 16 May at 10.30am.
Flowers are welcome but donations are preferred please to The Hubb Foundation Children's Charity in Burslem (thehubbfoundation.com).
