Passed away peacefully in the Freeman Hospital surrounded by her loving family at her side on 2nd August 2026 aged 77 years.

Marilyn, beloved Wife of Billy, much-loved Mam of Caroline and Gwynneth, loving Mother-in-law of "The Marks", adored Grandma of Erin and her partner Sean and a dearly loved best friend of Margaret.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Would family and friends please meet for service at
Saltwell Crematorium on
Thursday 20th August 2026 at 10:30am.

Family flowers only please; donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Arthritis UK (Gateshead Branch) and Bowel Cancer UK via a collection at the Crematorium.

Those attending are invited to wear a splash of purple or bright colours as a tribute to Marilyn.

I remember my cousin as a bright young girl starting at the Grammar School and as a proud graduate of Durham University in her middle years. Go in peace Marylin.
