We had only known David for a short while, after becoming neighbours. He welcomed our family with open arms and his humour always had us giggling! Thank you for being in our lives, even if it was for a short while.

You are missed by us all David,

Love Lydia, Ben and the boys xx

I am so sad to be reading this. David was a big part of my life when I was a child growing up. I remember him like my Dad (Eric) being a clown full of jokes and just being himself naturally. Not only at work but out and about. There were times where conflicting words were spoken but then resolved and sense of humour was restored. Well Dave you can catch up with one another and all those who are waiting for you in that special space. send in the clowns to brighten or cause mischief as was on earth and now in heaven. My condolences go out to all of Dave’s family at this sad time.

We have only been in Quorn for a few years now but David & Jan as neighbours have made us feel so welcome. David’s great sense of humour and generous attitude to all was refreshing. We did often put the world to rights over a drink or two. He quickly became a close friend. He was a larger than life character and he will live on in our hearts and memories. So sad and still in shock. We miss you David. x

In loving memory of Sir David Adcock my good friend for over 40 years. I came to England with my friend Mallory Pittman both of us as exchange students from Wilson, North Carolina in the summer of 1979. We were fortunate to live around the corner from Jan and David at a little cottage and work in the town nearby named Loughborough. Jan and David guided us along many paths as we explored the nearby counties. I loved our get togethers especially on Sunday for dinner and drinks. We had the good fortune to meet their son Bill and tease and play with our new little brother! I will always remember David fondly and our time together seeing some of the sites....our little Friday nights spent at the Three Crowns Pub in Barrow Upon Soar and telling stories with his good friend Dennis Donkin and his wife Jan. Jan Adcock was our guardian Angel and gave us a wonderfully detailed map of the U.K. so we could explore and find our way back to Quorn! David was alway upbeat and just a wonderful guy to be around. David, Bill and Dennis visited us in North Carolina and we played golf and attempted to go deep sea fishing on a private charter... unfortunately the weather would not cooperate and a few got sea sick except David and I. However we did manage to eat some local tasty seafood onshore at a restaurant. My Dad fell in love with both David and Dennis and their wonderful British sense of humor. It has been my great pleasure to be part of the Adcock family for all these years. I love you all very much Jan, David and Bill! Rest in peace David. With love, Wade Saleeby
