DorothyAFFLECKPeacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital on Sunday, August 14, with her daughter and granddaughter by her side, Dorothy, aged 84, of Oswaldtwistle. Dearest wife of the late Walter, loved mum of Dale, nana of Michelle and great-nana of Lucy, and loved mother-in-law of Geoff. Dorothy began her working life at Alexandra’s Tailoring, had various administration roles, including GEC in Clayton, but her great love was her role as a carer for the elderly, both at Broad Oak, Accrington, and Peel Court, Oswaldtwistle. Dorothy loved to travel, and enjoyed many happy holidays in Portugal and Spain. She had a great love of history and reading her history books. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter and great-granddaughter, and will be greatly missed by all. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 23, at 11am at Accrington Crematorium Chapel. Following the service, all are welcome for a buffet lunch at The Griffin’s Head, Huncoat. Family flowers only; donations if desired to Derian House Children’s Hospice c/o funeral director Hyndburn Funeral Services, Accrington.
