DavidALLENBYDavid Joseph Allenby was born in Seaton Carew on February 8th 1957 and died in Hull on July 26th 2024.
He was a man of many talents and many names, variously answering to William Braquemard, GOD (Good Old Dave) and, to me, his partner, Davey-Jo. He had a PhD in biochemistry and could legitimately have called himself Dr Allenby, though he never did.
He edited a small press poetry magazine for several years and went on to create a successful photo blog, Hull and Hereabouts, which is still highly popular.
Dave was lost to us too soon and those who loved him will miss him forever. He is especially mourned by his partner of 43 years, Margot K Juby. He died on the day that they were to have married.
