RobertANSTRUTHER(Morningside, Edinburgh) unexpectedly at home on October 26th, 2024, only son of the late Robert and Betty of Stirling, beloved cousin to Jane and dear friend to many.

Well kent face in Montpelier's, the Canny Man's and Bennets Bar. Formerly of the Universities of Stirling and Edinburgh and latterly the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Hill walker, dog lover and live music fan.

Service at Mortonhall Crematorium, Pentland Chapel, Edinburgh on Monday 25th November at 12.30pm.

No flowers or black ties. Band tour t-shirts preferred.

I remember Bob very well - he was the computing officer at the Centre for Speech Technology Research (CSTR), University of Edinburgh, when I arrived in 1993. On more than one occasion he arrived at work with his arm in a bandage because his dog had been rather too playful. I think that dog had more than little wolf in it!
I'd actually been trying to reconnect with Bob recently, to invite him to CSTR's 40th anniversary celebration earlier this month. I'm very sad he wasn't with us then, but he was in our thoughts.
