ChristineAPPLEBYChris Appleby (nee Cooling) It is with immense sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Chris Appleby on Thursday 26th January 2023 aged 75 years. Chris died at home in Mickleover, Derby. Chris was a loving Wife to the late Vic Appleby and a treasured Mum to Gayle & Jane and a loving Mother in Law to Paul, Tim and Simon. A loving Nanna to Ben & Sophie. A Sister to 5 siblings, Auntie, Sister in Law and a friend to many. Chris dedicated her life to caring for others including working at various care homes and the City General Hospital and Burton General hospital where she specialised as a geriatric nurse. The family would like to express our thanks for those who helped care for Chris recently (Royal Derby and social services team) and the wonderful East Midlands Ambulance service and their paramedics. The funeral service is to be held at Markeaton Crematorium in the Main Chapel on Monday 27th February 2023 at 11am. We welcome all friends and family to join us for Chris's farewell. The family request attendees wear a little yellow or pink (or some colour) please. We kindly ask that floral tributes are from direct family only. Donations are welcome and can be made in loving memory of Chris to the Air Ambulance or Coping with Pain charities. Donations can be made via the Funeral Director, Co-op Funeral care, 73 Normanton Road, Derby. DE1 2GH (01332 344070) or can be given at the end of the service.
