Mary SheilaASHTONMary known to all as 'Sheila' passed away at Mayflower House in Plymouth on Monday 19th July 2021, fortified by the rites of the Holy Catholic Church. Sheila was born & lived in Helmshore until Christmas 2018, when she moved to live closer to her daughter Bridget in Plymouth. For many years Sheila taught in St Veronica's Primary school, Helmshore & Bentgate school in Haslingden. Sheila will be remembered by many of her pupils; whom she was always delighted to bump into in her retirement. Sheila leaves a daughter Bridget, son Paul, son-in-law Malcolm, grandsons Sam, David & Jonny and great-grandchildren Spencer, Rosie and Chloe. Sheila's service will be accessible online for those who are unable to attend. Login details are available from daughter Bridget. A memorial service will be held later in the year for family & friends to celebrate Sheila and her late husband Derek's lives together; when their ashes are reunited at an interment in Haslingden. Donations are asked for in lieu of flowers to the work of CAFOD.
