GeorgeASTONHas died at the age of 90.
George was a keen and very talented centre forward in the amateur football world of Nuneaton and surrounding District during the 1950s and early 60s. Do you remember him? He played for numerous successful teams over the years including Bedworth Town, The Co-op, The Hearts, The Pick of the League and Spartan Thistle. He lived with his late wife June Aston in Nuneaton all his life, having been born on Tuttle Hill as Nuneaton's Jubilee Baby in 1935. In addition to being an extremely talented local footballer, George was also widely known as a manager at the Dunlop factory in Holbrook Coventry, before latterly undertaking a successful career with the Warwickshire Probation Service.
The funeral service will take place at the Heart of England Crematorium, Nuneaton on Thursday, 15th January 2026 at 4:15pm
